![The importance of resting…
Those who have followed the rapid development of Alfred will already know that I have hardly had a break in about 2 years. This became much more obvious at the end of May 2011 when I left full time employment and finally got my evenings and weekends [somewhat] back, which were previously used to develop and market Alfred.
However, since then, I have slipped back into working evenings and weekends. If I include the time I spend on twitter, replying to emails and development, it would be probably 70 or 80 hours a week - It doesn’t take a genius to work out that sustaining this is probably way too much!
My problem is that I sometimes find it hard NOT to work on Alfred, I absolutely LOVE it! I love the positive feedback, I love the online community built around him, I especially love that I can now spend my working day on Alfred thanks to the fantastic users who have invested in me by buying the Powerpack… and I believe my love for this shows in the quality and effort put into Alfred as a whole package.
I will get to the point. Why am I writing this tumble?
Because I need a bit of R&R!
I have decided that I deserve September to take it easy, relax, recompose my thoughts, spend some time with my family (celebrate both Vero’s 30th and my 34th birthdays), catch up on house chores, do some hobbies, play some piano… maybe even just sleep on the deck in the sun.
By doing this, not only will I gain back a bit of sanity but it will also refuel me to take Alfred [and some other little Mac products I’m working on] to the next level in the run up to Christmas!
Don’t worry, I’m not abandoning everything!
Vero and I will still be replying to emails and tweets during September, helping users who need it… the replies may just be a little more spaced out.
Cheers,Andrew@preppeller
p.s. I’m hoping to see lots of people click the little heart button for this post :)](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lqon7zMeXs1qgft15o1_500.jpg)
