As Alfred’s user base grows, I am getting an increasing number of feature requests ranging from great ideas right the way to outright whacky… at times it has got to the point where I am reading feature requests more than doing code!
When creating an app, it’s not always possible to implement every last little feature a user asks for - Doing so would turn Alfred into a big-bloaty-lump-o-turd™. I make sure that I carefully balance adding features with avoiding adding bloat or unnecessary complexity and also keeping performance as high as feasibly possible. This keeps Alfred the best piece of software he could be for 99.999% of the users.
Now that the 0.9.9 Powerpack supports extensions, this is a HUGE step towards making Alfred a platform to facilitate users to do anything they want with Alfred without every feature needing to be in the core of Alfred. This is just the start too, I plan on adding a high performance native plugin API with the ability to feed results directly back into Alfred which will allow developers imaginations to go wild!
Just remember that I have a very big and solid plan for Alfred which I have been following for the past 2 years. This is how he got to where he is today and this will continue into the future… so trust me :)

Note: The truck in the picture is one of those super modified japanese trucks and usually the sort of image I have in my mind when thinking what Alfred would look like if I implemented every single feature asked for :P
